To observe the day rural people arrange traditional games, dramas, and cultural functions throughout the country. Shopkeepers open ‘halkhata’ and urban people observe it in a befitting manner. Wearing traditional dresses, they attend the cultural functions arranged by various organizations.

dotara, bamboo-flute, sarinda, etc., and somebody likes to wear a mask of different animals. In Dhaka city, the main function of the day is held at Ramna Batamul. A large number of people attend the programme. People in villages celebrate this day according to their traditional customs.
